Jerry Mckenna
The 11" Celestron Schmidt Cassegrain

Jerry's scope is a 1994 model Celestron 11 (Ultima model). This is his main instrument for observing variable stars. It has a sophistecated PEC drive and a focal ratio of f11. On a clear night this scope can easily reach 14.3 magnitude. When pushed to the limit this scope has shown stars as faint as 15th mag. In contrast to the effort of finding Pluto with the 8", finding pluto with the 11 is easy.
